Our property is called “Quartdale Lodge”.   With my love for Quarter Horses   & my husbands love for Clydesdales, it was the only name for our property (Quarterhorse / clydesdale).  I have attached a picture of our logo, which will be hanging at our front gate.

We are finally in the house out at the block. Finally.... all the horses and cattle in one place with us. No more driving to another location to feed out.

We have finally had a decent drop of rain.  We are already at the 1/2 way mark for the montly average already and we are only in the first week.  We also smashed last months average which topped up the tanks and put water in the dams.

ABOUT DEAN AND MYSELF

  I met my husband Dean in Sydney in 2001.   I am from Tasmania and Dean from Sydney.   We shared the same building at work   & discovered we worked a wall apart.

  Most of my family still reside in Tasmania, with couple of sisters having made the move to the Mainland.     Most of Deans family still reside in Sydney.

  Coming from Tassie, I had no plans to stay in the Big Smoke (Sydney), so Dean and I decided to leave for Wagga Wagga.   We stayed there for about 4 years before making the move back here to Tassie.  I am now working as a Property Portfolio Manager and Dean has joined Tas Police.

  We tied the knot on the 29^th October 2005 at Mt Buller in the Victorian High Country.   We had our photos taken at the historic “Craigs Hut”, from the move “The Man From Snowy River”.   We arrived at the hut by helicopter, but due to weather had to rely on some kind hearted 4x4ers, to take us back down the mountain to our waiting limo.   We ended up turning up 1 hr late for our reception, but a great night was had by all.    

THE 1 STOP BARREL SHOP

&   how it came about

  I have been around the rodeo circuit & competed in Barrel Racing for many years in the past;   Most of which was in Tasmania.   I am looking forward to competing again this coming season (0809 season).   I sold my old barrel racing mare (Ash) 3 years ago, after 11 years of partnership.   I thought I would try something new, but I only proved to myself I miss the thrill of racing.  I have purchased a double Morn Deck gelding who will hopefully become my new barrel racing partner.

    I   decided I would like to start my own business specializing in Barrel Racing equipment, so   beginners   & professionals to the sport, could do all their shopping at one convenient location.   I have gotten together a range of suppliers to give Barrel Racers quality products at an affordable price.   I do not stock anything in the store I would not or do not use myself.   Most of my products are used around the world by Champion Barrel Racers.   I also decided to add some novelties (such as   the Painted Ponies Collection),   for gift ideas.

  We are a web based business, but   have plans   to open a saddlery   & continue stocking our Barrel Racing items in the future.   We will be setting up a store at home, where people will be able to come   & view our products.     We will also have a mobile store which can be taken to events as requested.   If you would like us to set up a stall at your equine event, please contact us   by email at 1stopbarrelshop@intas.net.au or on 0438 877 680.
