Boy is 15.3 hands. Has excelled at Dressage, eventing, show jumping, hack and halter events. Has also had a go at team penning, where he showed a real interest in the cattle.
It is time for a career change.
Below are some photos of when Boy came to me and how I have brought him back to good health. The last owner had loaned Boy to a family who only had him 3 months. He went from show condition to barely alive in that short 3 months. I have almost had him for 3 years.
A BIG thankyou to Ken Green who worked his magic on Boy. He is a different horse to ride since Kens visit. No soreness and is a much happier horse.
The day we picked boy up (very dull and lifeless, eyes black and bones sticking out)
Boy after 6 weeks (shine back in his coat and clearly putting on weight)
12 Weeks after purchase (last of the lifeless coat brushed out and started riding him)
Boy at his current condition (photos taken Nov 07)
Diretons Kinda Magical - Reg'd QH colt (Q-57005). Paddock name 'Tex'. I named him Tex because I thought he looked like a Texas Mule (I mean that in a nice way).
Breeding - One Scotch Delight (IMP), Medora Tradewinds (IMP), Big Red Chex (IMP) & Bills Rockette (IMP) are included in his breeding.
I saw Tex advertised on the net and had to have him. There was something about him, I couldn’t quite put my finger on.I travelled over 6.5 hrs to pick him up, to find this well grown but scruffy four legged boy, come out from behind the shed.He walked right on the float and was a pleasure to tow all the way home.To say the least, he has grown to be an outstanding colt.
Tex has a personality anyone would fall for.He is spirited and loves to play.
Tex now has a foal to show off for 2008. She is a very leggy, big boned and very tall filly. (see pic below)
Photo taken almost 7 weeks old
Tex is available to outside mares for the 2008 stud season.
DUSTY – I don’t really know Dusty’s exact age or breeding. She is in her 30's old but acts like a young filly.
I have had her for around 21 years. We use to do a lot of bush bashing in Tassie, gallop around the hills & I would drag logs around with her.Her sure footedness would take you anywhere.
I have bred a few foals from her, all of which show her wonderful nature. She is now a companion horse but can still be ridden around the paddocks in a headstall. She is still in terrific condition but shows a little arthritis when she pulls up from a gallop around the paddock.
She has been around a long time and I will never part with her now.
