JANSEN – 10 1/2 old border collie x blue heeler.

I  purchased Jansen at the Burnie (Tasmania), Dog Pound in 1998 he was around 5mths old, I paid $27 for him. 

He has been run over twice and fallen from the back of the truck once, he has been kicked by cattle and horses, had a large growth removed from his side and still insists on coming wherever I go.  He is very faithful, loves kids and generally has a very placid / timid nature.  However has proven to be protective of me at times.

SHELLY – The queen of the house and farm. 

I purchased Shelly as a kitten, from the Wagga Wagga Animal Shelter.   She is now almost 1.

Shelly is not your ordinary cat, she quite often comes out to help us round up and feed out the stock.  Even on the 44 deg days when it was too much for Jansen to join us, Shelly would be panting like crazy, running beside us wanting to help.  She has since learned of the short cuts thru the paddocks so she can keep up; And now jumps in the truck, sits on my lap with her feet up on the door looking out the window.
